The Foundation was created in 2009 and endeavours to enrich the lives of Western Australians by increasing access to information resources while collecting and preserving our social heritage for current and future generations.

Our Mission is to enhance the State of Western Australia's capacity for learning, accessing, collecting, preserving and receiving information.

The Foundation is focused on fostering partnerships to create support for the work of the State Library in valuing and making accessible information and knowledge. 

The Foundation works with the State Library of Western Australia to create projects and initiatives to:

• Capture the Australian Story,
• Enrich Client Experiences,
• Make Collections more accessible,
• Develop partnerships and community connections and;
• Enhance the public library network
