Hear and Say Centre

Charity: Health

An early intervention program for children who are deaf/hearing impaired that uses cochlear implant and digital hearing aid technology together with Auditory-Verbal Therapy to teach deaf children to hear, listen and speak.  Hear and Say children graduate at 5/6 years of age and to into mainstream education because they have speech and language in the same range for their age as hearing children.  They are then able to achieve their potential in education, career and life.  Hear and Say has world leading outcomes with 94% of their graduates living in the mainstream compared to only 33% in Europe.  It is a family focused, Queensland wide charitable program which depends on community support as it only receives 14% of its funds from government.
