The Fight Cancer Foundation has been a long-time supporter of our ovarian cancer program, and in November 2008 formally adopted the Ovcare National Cancer Centre as a major project.

To prevent the terrible loss of life caused by ovarian cancer we must develop tests that detect ovarian cancer earlier.  The earlier the disease is found, the better the outcome.

Through Ovcare, we continue the legacy of those remarkable women, past and present, whom we honour through our ongoing commitment to the community to deliver earlier detection and better treatment of ovarian cancer. 

The good news is that, over the past twelve months, significant progress has been made in ovarian cancer test development with the release of a new multimarker diagnostic.  Despite this success, more work needs to be done to deliver a test that is considered suitable for community-based screening.
